Creating Your First Checklist

Build custom verification criteria

A checklist defines what the AI should look for when analyzing your documents. Each checklist contains one or more "checks" - specific items the AI will verify.

1
Navigate to Dashboard

From your dashboard, click the "Create Checklist" button. You'll be taken to the checklist creation form.

2
Name Your Checklist

Give your checklist a descriptive name (e.g., "Contract Compliance Check" or "Resume Screening"). Add an optional description to help you remember its purpose.

3
Add Shared Context (Optional)

If all checks need the same background information, add it to the Shared Context field. This context will be included with every check.

4
Create Your First Check

Each check requires:

  • Name: A short, descriptive title
  • Prompt: Clear instructions for what the AI should verify
  • Output Type: Choose between Yes/No, Rating (1-10), Category, Analysis, or Information Extraction (which can also be used for analysis tasks)
  • AI Model: Select which model to use (GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini, etc.)
5
Add Verifiers (Optional)

For higher confidence, add verification agents. These independent AI models will cross-check the primary result without seeing the original analysis.

6
Save Your Checklist

Click "Save Checklist" to save. Your checklist is now ready to use on any documents!

Using the AI Wizard

Let AI help you create checklists

Not sure what checks to include? The AI Wizard guides you through an interactive conversation to understand your needs and generates a complete checklist for you.

1
Start the Wizard

From your dashboard, click "AI Wizard" to begin. The wizard will greet you and ask about your document verification needs.

2
Describe Your Documents

Tell the wizard what type of documents you'll be analyzing (contracts, resumes, invoices, etc.) and what you need to verify.

3
Upload Reference Files (Optional)

You can upload sample documents or templates to help the wizard understand your requirements better. This improves the quality of generated checks.

4
Answer Follow-up Questions

The wizard may ask clarifying questions about industry standards, compliance requirements, or specific criteria you need to check.

5
Review Generated Checklist

Once the wizard has enough information, it generates a complete checklist. Review the suggested checks and make any adjustments needed.

6
Save and Use

Click "Use This Checklist" to save it to your library. You can edit it anytime or start using it immediately.

Example Conversation
You:

"I need to review employment contracts to make sure they include all required clauses."

AI Wizard:

"Great! I can help with that. What type of employment contracts are these - full-time, part-time, or contractor agreements? And are there any specific clauses that are legally required in your jurisdiction?"

Buying Credits

Understanding the credit system

How Credits Work

Credits are used each time the AI processes a document. The cost depends on the complexity of your checklist and the AI models used.

Credit Costs
  • Each check uses credits based on the AI model selected
  • Verifiers use additional credits per verification
  • Advanced models (flagship, Gemini 3, GPT-5 series, Claude 4.5) cost more than basic models (flash or mini models)
  • Credit usage is shown before processing starts
Free Credits
  • New accounts receive 1,000 free credits
  • Credits never expire
  • Try all features risk-free
  • No credit card required to start
How to Purchase Credits
1
Go to Buy Credits

Click on "Credits" in the navigation bar, then select "Buy Credits" from the dropdown menu.

2
Select Credit Bundle

Choose how many credits you need. Credits are sold in bundles of 100 at $9.99 per bundle.

Sharing Checklists

Collaborate with team members

Share your checklists privately with specific team members or colleagues. When you share a checklist, the recipient gets their own copy to use and customize.

1
Open Sharing Options

From your dashboard, click the "Share" button next to the checklist you want to share.

2
Enter Recipient Email

Type the email address of the CheckIt.so user you want to share with. They must have an existing account.

4
Recipient Accepts

When they accept, a copy of your checklist is added to their library. They can then customize it for their own use.

Publishing Checklists
